What Happens to Your Pottery After Class?
Your piece dries for about a week and becomes bone-dry (also known as greenware).
- It is then fired in the kiln for the first time.
- Afterward, I apply a coat of clear glaze to give it strength and shine.
- Finally, your piece goes into the kiln again for its second firing.
This process takes time, but ensures your creations are durable, functional, and beautiful. Pieces are typically ready for pickup in 2–4 weeks. What’s Included All clay, tools, and materials Hands-on instruction and demos Studio finishing (trimming/touch-ups as needed) Clear glaze & kiln firing handled by me after class Coffee & pastries included in all standard classes Pickup once ready (or group delivery available; fee may apply) Add-Ons Coffee & Pastries for Custom Workshops: I can coordinate a simple coffee service and pastries upon request. Travel Setup: On-site workshops include table coverings and a tidy, easy cleanup. How to Book Email sales@handmadehattie.com with your date, time, headcount, and location (or say you’ll come to me in Newport Beach). I’ll confirm availability and send next steps.
